“And as time passed, she could not stop one second. All she could do was crawl, run, walk along side the ticking of time. All she could do was whatever it took to keep moving forward….” -Tamidra
I always return to what I know most….words. I’m not the best at words, but words know me. They know how I think, how I feel, how I operate in this world-and what they know is the tumultuous time of what all forms of existence now knows as the year of 2020. It was to be a promising year; however, what it truly was and will forever be was a year of revelation.
It was a test of time.
Time never once stopped to ask if it all was too much to bear on feeble human minds, and the fragile human spirit. However, I am here. So are you. I can’t speak on your beliefs, but I’ll be honest with mine. I learned to pray more. In my tired and troublesome times, I learned more than ever that I need God-not just in passing by, not just as a brief moment of recognition, not just as a mumbled prayer, not just as a….a fleeting thought. No, no I need God as the never-ending, constant presence that He is.
I’m not perfect, and I don’t strive to be. But one thing I have learned is that time doesn’t stop for any of us to take a single second for granted. We must appreciate everything God has given us, and every bit of our gifts and talents.
It’s time to start again, because time never stopped. And as for me….well, I will start again at the place that knows me well….
words.
