“Because the days are never guaranteed, the minutes never promised, the seconds always fleeting…time is but a glance, every breath a chance, and every morning worth greeting…”~Tamidra~

It’s Thanksgiving time again, and again many of us will sit with our loved ones and share an experience of happiness. Others will cry for the loved ones lost and long more than ever to see their face and hear their voice. A homeless person will sit in a cold corner somewhere or perhaps they’ll find a place where a kind heart will share a meal with them. Somewhere someone will have a sense of guilt for not being able to spend the holiday with their family, but it some way-duty calls, and so life must go on regardless.
I don’t know everyone’s story or what Thanksgiving Day will hold, but I do know one thing. Despite the highs and lows of life, I am thankful. It is important for me to write this because God has shown great mercy and grace throughout my life. That is not to say that everything has always been perfect. It is the exact opposite. Life has been a rough road, but I can honestly say that God has given me opportunities in the midst of chaos. I have learned that our hardships never take away God’s purpose for us. I do not have a perfect life, but I do have a Blessed life….and as I think about it, I smile. I smile because I can think of many times I was supposed to be defeated, down and out, and unable to recover–but my story never stopped with my tired moments, or my failures, or my sorrow-filled spirit. By the Grace of God my story continued to this very moment….this very moment where I can smile and be thankful because everything life ever meant for my defeat only made me stronger.
So, wherever you may be, whoever you are, however your heart may feel–Know that you’re not forgotten. Cherish each laugh and smile. Extend grace and love to others. Remember that you are amazing and beautiful no matter what your circumstances may be. Take a moment to smile. Take a moment to realize you are here, and you are important…..and know that life never promises us the next second. Value happiness and be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving!
