“….People envy the things and lives of others without really knowing what it is they’re envying. They obsess over the rainbow they see without realizing the storm that took place before the rainbow could even appear…”-Tamidra

Let me get straight to the point….
Be careful how you obsess over other people’s blessings. Have you ever considered what they went through to get to where they are? The path they survived may not be one you’re willing to take, and it certainly may not be one you’d survive yourself. You may see the glory, but you don’t know the pain. Learn from life. Learn from others, but focus on yourself, and what God has for you! You’re more amazing than you realize.
Everything that is meant for you is there for you on the path in front of you. If you’re too busy looking to the right to see what that person has and to the left to see what they are doing over there, you’ll miss your own blessing on the road ahead. The truth is, most likely you don’t know what was in the fine print of their journey. You don’t know every mistake they may have made, every challenge they had to overcome, every hurdle they had to jump over, how many times they had to fall and get back up, how many times life punched them in the gut, how many tears they had to cry, how much negativity they had to fight their way through, how many doubts and fears they had to try to silence, how many nights they tossed and turned….just to get to the prize. You also don’t know how much the prize weighs. Sure it’s pretty. Sure it’s nice. An athlete accomplishes many goals, but those goals come with hours, days, and weeks of hard training. They may have a nice big house and a beautiful car, but all of that takes maintenance. Sure, they have a loving relationship-but relationships take patience, understanding, and are always a work in progress. What you see is not always what you know. So, Friend….before you go obsessing over, wishing for, and praying for what someone else has….understand that you are also obsessing over, wishing for, and praying for challenges you may not even know about. Focus on what God has for you. He created you to handle your own business and blessings. Move forward on your own path and fulfill your own purpose. You’re truly more important than you’ll ever really know!
