“….Though the tiredness of her spirit spoke to her in groans-the dreaded langauage of impossibilities, she moved forward….she climbed to the top, and she proved to even herself that her God-given purpose and will-power was stronger than anything that tried to stop her.”-Tamidra

A few months ago, I traveled to Philadelphia. By the time I got to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, I was already tired. Honestly, the thought of climbing up those 72 steps of horror immediately brought images of an ambulance ride to the nearby emergency room. Everything in my spirit was moaning and groaning like a little child having a tantrum over some petty injustice life had devastated them with. There I was, hot and bothered by a vengeful type of heat, and a fierce type of being tired-but I had to climb those steps known as The Rocky Steps.
What I am about to tell you is the absolute truth, my friends. Each step spoke to me. My body was weak. My mind was tired. My soul just wasn’t up for this challenge, but I took the first step. In doing so, the first step said, “You’re done with the first step already, and you’re still alive. Go on to the next step.” And the next step said, “You’re doing great, take 5 more steps…” Each step spoke to my troubled spirit until I got to the very top, and the very top said to me, “See…it was hard work, but it was never impossible.”
Such is life.
Before you take the first step, it always looks impossible. It always feels impossible. My athletic days are currently behind me, so I knew I wasn’t exactly the most qualified to climb up those steps with ease in record timing. How often does life try to remind us that we’re not qualified or we’re not worthy enough to accomplish the challenge set before us? How often do we believe this form of negativity? How often has it stopped people from doing the greatest things ever? If you’re presented with the challenge, it’s because you’re strong enough and amazing enough to accomplish it. It’s part of your purpose. It’s part of your journey. It’s part of what makes you…YOU. You are worthy, and you’re more than enough.
With each step you take, remind yourself that if you could take the last step, you can take the next step. You may have to rest along the way. You may stumble somewhat on the climb up. You may feel discouraged. But the truth is, you’re so amazing-you’re going to keep climbing, and you’re going to make it to the top. You see, it may be hard…..but it’s never impossible.
